Now Interviewing Overseas Applicants

We are now accepting applications from ALL applicants, however we are currently primarily focused on our overseas recruiting process. Interviews for overseas applicants will continue throughout the months of October and November as we prepare for our next and largest intake of new ALTs for the April 2022 school year.

We are looking for more great applicants who are engaging and enthusiastic, flexible and culturally sensitive, and motivated to go the extra mile. If you would like to live and work in Japan, or make a return to Japan, then we still encourage you to apply now.

For all overseas applicants, please understand that due to travel restrictions caused by the coronavirus, our ability to bring people over to Japan as planned could be greatly impacted. While conditions are generally improving at this time, and visa and entry regulations are starting to ease, they could change again at any time so please remain diligent and stay aware of any new changes.

Also, due to a backlog of previously approved applicants we still have in our system from last year, it should be noted that this may line up to be a highly competitive year for new recruits. We fully expect to have a full slate of new contracts to fill and our normal number of current ALTs who will be moving on, but it will take some time to determine our exact hiring numbers for April 2022.

Due to the current conditions caused by the coronavirus, we will be forgoing our normal face-to-face interviews and instead temporarily resort to a web-only system using Google Meet for all applicants, both in country and overseas, until further notice.

Overseas, hopefully we will be able to resume face-to-face interviews sometime in the near future. Typically, we interview in most of the following locations - in New York, Chicago, Cincinnati, Charlotte, Tampa, Austin, Denver, Los Angeles, and Seattle in the US; in London, England; and in Brisbane and Melbourne, Australia.

Within Japan, we typically interview daily at our offices in Nagoya and Osaka as well as other main cities in Japan from Sapporo to Fukuoka, including in Sendai, Tokyo, Shizuoka, Okayama and Hiroshima. We hope to resume interviews in these locations when conditions allow.
